Instagram: New Live Rooms feature will allow up to four people go live simultaneously

Thanks to the new Live Rooms feature recently rolled out by Instagram, users can now go live with multiple people at once. The feature which the company plans to roll out globally is uniquely designed to allow up to four people to video chat in a live broadcast. This is an upgrade to previous updates which only allows two people to go live.

Commenting on this new feature that should launch soon, Instagram hopes that the new feature will spur people to begin their own exclusive “talk show or a podcast,” host a “jam session,” or partner with other creators to put out mind-blowing content.

With this new feature, we expect to see tons of unique content been rolled out in the coming months, plus, we expect the feature to attract larger audiences. Once started, the followers of everyone taking part in the live room will get notifications about it. Interestingly, anyone who has been previously blocked by an active participant won’t be able to join the live.

Giving the unprecedented success enjoyed by Clubhouse, a social audio app that allows users to go live in rooms, it’s easy to see why Instagram is set to slug it out with Clubhouse, as the company continually strives to be the number one social media platform in the world.

At the moment, Clubhouse allows more than 10 people to participate in a live room at once. Not just that, each room can accommodate up to 8,000 people before it max out.

There have been reports that Facebook is building a direct competitor to rival Clubhouse, but until we see or hear anything tangible, we are sure many people will enjoy the thrill offered by Instagram Live especially considering that Clubhouse isn’t fully accessible to everyone as it is an invite-only platform and only available to iOS users.

We will keep you posted if we get any updates regarding Instagram Live Rooms and when it rolls out officially.
